Put the fuel price checker in your story
A free postcode checker for your article. Readers type a postcode or town and see the cheapest petrol or diesel near them, from today's official prices, without leaving your page.
1. Choose a starting point (optional)
A regional title can open the checker on its own patch. Leave blank to let readers type their own.
2. Copy the code into your article
Paste it into an HTML or embed block. It works in WordPress, Arc, Brightspot and most other systems.
Copied.
If your system strips the script line, keep only the iframe: it works on its own at a fixed height.
What your readers get
- The cheapest forecourts within 2, 5 or 10 miles, cheapest first, with each one's price, brand, distance and when it last reported.
- The local average, and how much a 55-litre tank saves at the cheapest forecourt against the dearest.
- Prices from the government's Fuel Finder scheme, which retailers are legally required to report to, refreshed every day. Forecourts that have not reported for 14 days are left out.
- Nothing to maintain: the checker updates itself.
What it does not do
- It does not take your readers away. Results appear inside the checker; only a click on a forecourt's details opens a page on our site, in a new tab.
- It does not track your readers. There are no cookies and no advertising. A postcode goes from the reader's browser to postcodes.io to find the location, and is never sent to us or to you.
- It does not slow your page. The price data only downloads when a reader searches.
Free to use. The checker carries a small credit to British Fuel Prices; please leave it in. Want it
